LiveScan Plus™ is a fully integrated booking module that captures fingerprints, mugshots, and data from one integrated booking station.

LiveScan PLUS™ Features and Benefits:

  • Modern and Graphical User Interface (GUI): LiveScan Plus™ sets a new standard for ease of operation and graphical presentation. It clearly instructs the operator where they are in the fingerprint capture process, what has been successfully completed, and what is next.
  • Customized Database (User Defined Demographic Fields): The fields in the LiveScan Plus™ database are custom designed for each agency.  In addition, fields can be added and removed from the database at any time in the future. 
  • Customized User Interface Design: You can custom design the demographic entry screens to meet your exact needs.  Because the user interface is not hard coded, you can arrange the fields on the screen to match your local booking report.  Fields can easily be added to the database and to the user interface at any time.
  • Long Term Storage and access of all tenprint Cards: NIST Manager Plus™ can provide advanced searching capabilities, side-by-side image comparisons and access to the tenprint data from multiple computers.  With NIST Manager Plus™, limited availability and manual filing of tenprint cards are a thing of the past.  This affordable solution provides real-time and web based access to the fingerprint and demographic data, as well as to mugshot images from our Digital PhotoManager™ system.

The LiveScan Plus™ fingerprint identification solution is the newest generation of high speed, high volume ten-print scanners. The innovative design significantly simplifies and shortens criminal bookings and background check procedures with the ability to digitally capture both slap and roll fingerprints. LiveScan Plus™ has superior image quality enhancement features specifically designed to minimize FBI fingerprint submission rejections resulting from difficult to fingerprint individuals, improperly captured images, and ink, dye, grease, or dirt stains on fingers.

LiveScan Plus™ is certified for use in most of the United States and is Appendix F Certified. This easy to use system minimizes training requirements and will improve officer safety by speeding up the booking process. The operator can easily and quickly enter or download demographic data and electronically capture all primary biometrics including fingerprint (rolled/flat), palm print, facial/SMT, and iris.

LiveScan Plus™ may act as a standalone system, a module to Digital PhotoManager™, or a client to NIST Manager Plus™. It can also be configured to generate color coded arm bands, create ID cards, capture electronic signatures, scan and store document images, and support magnetic stripe readers.

Unlike other vendors, DataWorks Plus' LiveScan Plus™ software is designed to support all major livescan hardware manufacturers that have obtained Appendix F certification from the FBI. This approach allows DataWorks Plus to remain open and objective when recommending the best livescan to meet the specific needs of your agency.

LiveScan Plus™ uses a two-tiered approach to process image quality:

  1. Initially, LiveScan Plus™ checks for such problems as "over" or "under" inking, and flags whether a print is of good, fair, or poor quality.
  2. Each rolled fingerprint image is then processed through Dataworks Plus' Fingerprint Sequence Check, which evaluates and rates the quality of each rolled print. The evaluation is based on specific characteristics such as minutia, ridge patterns, etc. Poor quality or substandard images generate an immediate prompt for re-scan. Also, LiveScan Plus™ has a slap-to-roll comparison function to ensure proper sequence at every booking.

Once all prints have been scanned, they are displayed on the summary screen, which clearly shows any out of sequence prints. The summary screen also provides the option to view any of the prints taken.

LiveScan Plus™ can capture palm prints, slap impressions, and rolled fingerprint images as well as provide a means of inputting demographic information. Coupled with DataWorks Plus' integration expertise and our experience in supplying hundreds of identification systems to criminal justice and law enforcement agencies around the world, LiveScan Plus™ offers some of the best remote livescan capabilities available today.
