The
DataWorks Plus Inmate Tracking system is a fully integrated
tracking system with unlimited tracking locations so that you can
know the location of an inmate at any given time. It offers instant
inmate identification, streamlines head counts, and can interface
to other jail, criminal history, and RMS systems.
DataWorks
Plus has created numerous customized Inmate Tracking and Jail Tracking
systems for agencies across the country including NY City Police
Department, Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office/Jail (Tampa, FL),
Philadelphia Police Department, and Essex County Jails (PA).
Your system can be customized for all of your agency's needs and integrated
with JMS or other systems to eliminate duplicate data entry. Inmate
tracking increases staff an inmate security by enabling you to know
an inmate's location instantly. Records can be tagged with special
information such as separate and apart, health information, and
high risk. Our Inmate Tracking Manager will track the location,
inmate number, date, in/out, reason code, and location.
DataWorks Plus' Inmate Tracking Manager includes and uses:
- DataWorks Plus armbands, ID cards, or armbands created
by other systems
- Customized color coded armbands for medical risk, high risk, trustee, and more as defined by your agency
- Wireless or wired handheld barcode scanners
- Handheld terminals with barcode scanners
- Emergency headcount reports with missing report which allows the
operator to scan every inmate's armband and report on the missing
person(s)
- “Separate and Apart” ensures persons with “Separate and Apart” selected are
not tracked into the same cell or other locations
- “Classification” limits movement of specific inmates to certain locations
- Fingerprint matching and facial recognition for verification of
inmate identity
- Search and report of tracking fields
- Data stored with Microsoft SQL Server
Example of Inmate Tracking Manager in use at the Hillsborough County Sheriffs
Office/Jail (HCSO):
The arrestee’s information is entered into the HCSO Jail Management
System (JMS). The Arrestee is given a armband with a barcode representing
the booking number generated by the JMS system.
- The JMS system sends an electronic copy of the booking data
record to the DataWorks Plus Mugshot and Tracking system to eliminate
duplicate data entry.
- The arrestee’s armband is scanned with a barcode scanner for
tracking and identification purposes before capturing his fingerprint
electronically with a single finger reader.
- Later, the arrestee is moved to the photo capture station. The
arrestee’s armband and fingerprint are scanned and matched for
tracking and identification purposes. The corresponding arrest
record is automatically retrieved. The booking officer captures
a mugshot photo that is attached to the arrest record.
- The arrestee is moved to the property capture station where
the arrestee’s armband and fingerprint are scanned and matched
for tracking and identification purposes. The corresponding arrest
record is automatically retrieved. The booking officer captures
an arrestee property photo that is attached to the arrest record.
The arrestee signs an electronic signature pad that states he
agrees that his property is complete. HCSO uses the armband and
a DataWorks Plus Tracking application within the jail to track
arrestee movements.
- At arrestee release the armband and fingerprint are scanned
and matched for tracking and identification purposes.
- The arrestee’s data record and photo are automatically retrieved
for visual identification.
