FACES 4.0 FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT
FACES 4.0, developed by IQ Biometrix, is an award winning composite
tool that is being used by thousands of law enforcement agencies
worldwide, including the FBI, CIA, US Department of Defense and
US Navy. With FACES 4.0, composites can be created quickly and inexpensively
in order to solve crimes. FACES 4.0 helps identify and track criminal
suspects through the development of accurate, photo-like composites
based on witness interviews or other evidence such as video surveillance.
FACES
is fully compatible with Face Plus facial recognition technology
from DataWorks Plus. The integration allows composites to be matched
against mugshot or other ID databases to verify identity.
This makes it possible
for law enforcement agencies to build a composite of a suspect,
electronically search known offender records, come up with a match
set, and present a “virtual line-up” for positive identification
by the witness. The ability of the FACES ID code to be transmitted
between agencies or between jurisdictions allows composites to be
run against multiple databases.
Easy to Use
The FACES 4.0 user interface makes it easy for any police officer
to create accurate composites with a click of a mouse. No forensic
artist skills or experience are required. With FACES 4.0, composites
can be created quickly and inexpensively and used to solve crimes
when a professional sketch artist isn’t available. FACES 4.0 can
be used on any standard desktop or laptop computer running Microsoft
Windows 98 or better.

Facial Database
With a database of 4,400 facial features, including
Latin, African-American and Asian components, FACES 4.0 lets you
create accurate composites of either sex and any race. Selected
features are blended together to produce a photo-quality composite
image. The system also includes the ability to enhance image accuracy
by choosing among three different hair tones; adding facial markings
such as scars, moles, piercings, tattoos and earrings; and using
hats, headwear and eyeglasses.

Facial ID Codes
An exclusive feature of FACES 4.0 is that it automatically generates
a Biometric Alphanumeric Code (BAC) for every facial composite you
develop. The 56-digits in the BAC code represent the specific facial
features (eyes, nose, mouth, etc) in the FACES 4.0 image. This digital
“fingerprint” can be transmitted between police agencies in any
format (phone, fax, email) and used to recreate an FACES image in
exact detail. BAC code transmission – less than 1KB - is ideal for
wireless transmission between police cars and stations.
Police Bulletins and Alerts
FACES 4.0 allows for easy export of facial images as JPEG files
that can be included in police bulletins and advisories. FACES 4.0
also has integration capability with TRAK II, the emergency alert
solution that allows police, as well as other authorities such as
government, military, health and emergency response agencies, to
rapidly and securely share vital information with each other and
with the public. FACES 4.0 composites can be exported into TRAK
II emergency alerts for child abduction notifications, homeland
security threats, registered sex offender notifications, and wanted
or missing person cases.
