Reliable Identification Through Facial Recognition Technology
Digital mugshots are typically stored in an electronic database and can be used to create lineups for investigative purposes and witness viewings. However, a person’s appearance may change over time, and multiple images of the same individual may appear completely different from one another. DataWorks Plus’ FACE Plus uses the latest in facial recognition technology to positively match photos of an individual by identifying key characteristics of the facial image. The system can be added as a module to our Digital PhotoManager or SAF-ID solutions. With FACE Plus you will be able to search against any size database to identify an individual regardless of factors such as hair color, glasses, and image background.

How FACE Plus Works:
When you capture a mugshot, the system performs an automated quality check and creates a facial template. The template and facial image are stored for immediate and future ID searches. FACE Plus can perform both one-to-one (1:1) and one-to-many (1:N) searches. A one-to-one (1:1) search will verify that an individual is the person he or she claims to be. A one-to-many (1:N) will identify the individual by searching the entire database to find if any positive matches exist. When FACE Plus finds a positive match, any results of the facial recognition search will be displayed for image comparison. The user can view each retrieved record with the additional photos and data for further verification.
Integrated Functionality
FACE Plus not only provides rapid identification for investigations and booking, but enhances the functionality of other DataWorks Plus products as well. When FACE Plus is used in conjunction with DataWorks Plus’ SAF-ID fingerprint identification system, records retrieved from a positive match to the submitted fingerprint will also display additional results from facial matches. This works well for officers in the field who are using mobile devices. With FACE Plus, mobile devices with camera functionality can also be used to capture facial images at any place or time and query an agency’s database for positive matches. By serving as a fully integrated identification tool, FACE Plus will allow you to perform in seconds what would take hours or even days using traditional methods.
